Following not too impressive performance of Nigeria’s Super Eagles against Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in the 2021 African Cup Of Nations qualifier, team skipper on behalf of the team has tendered unreserved apology and promised to put things right in the return leg, BSNSports.com.ng can reports.
After scoring 4 goals in the first half, the Nigeria side allowed Sierra Leone to equalized the game in the second half and ended the tie 4 -4.
After the match former Leicester City winger apologised to Nigerians and vow to put things right next week in Freetown.
“This has been a real shocker. I want to, on behalf of the entire team, apologise to the generality of Nigerians for this poor result. We will go to Freetown and do the needful,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) President Amaju Melvin Pinnick has summoned the team technical crew to an emergency meeting slated for Saturday to discuss and channel a new course for the team.
