The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari is dead.

Abba Kyari died after he tested positive to Coronavirus weeks ago.

The late chief of staff had some health complications before contracting the Coronavirus that claimed his life.

Since he was declared positive to Coronavirus, his whereabout was kept secret until he came out to say he will be moving to Lagos for more treatment, expressing optimism that he will soon be fine to resume work.

But Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, confirmed Abba Kyari’s death in a tweet.

“The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.

“The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020. May God accept his soul. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly,” Adesina said.
