In the wake of profound sorrow, we bid farewell to a genuine patriot who sacrificially dedicated himself, even surrendering his freedom, in the pursuit of democracy and justice in Nigeria.

Reflecting on his pivotal role and relentless efforts to validate the annulled June 12, 1993 election, we acknowledge Mr. Frank Kokari repeated incarcerations by the military junta due to his steadfast opposition to dictatorship.

Despite the imperfections, his unwavering struggle for the democracy we cherish today was not in vain.

As we, the living, continue the journey, we carry a monumental debt to enhance our democracy, ensuring our votes wield the power they deserve on election days.

Our deepest sympathies extend to the family he leaves behind, and we implore the Almighty to grant him eternal peace.

In remembrance of a stalwart, Chief Peter Ameh, National Secretary CUPP, expresses gratitude for your selfless commitment and courage in building a progressive and prosperous nation.

His consistent opposition to military dictatorships, even at the cost of personal freedom, underscores the depth of commitment required to enthrone democracy.

Each period of captivity symbolized a stand against dictatorship, contributing to the eventual triumph of democracy.

Acknowledging the imperfections within our current democratic system, we highlight the enduring significance of Mr. Kokari’s contributions.

His advocacy paved the way for the imperfect yet invaluable democracy we practice today, urging us to continually refine and strengthen our electoral processes.
