Reticulated Global Engineering Ltd has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, over what it described as persistent harassment and intimidation allegedly carried out by officers of the IGP Monitoring Unit at Palma Royal Estate in Wuye, Abuja.

The petition, submitted through the firm’s solicitors, Sam Erugo, SAN & Co., accused the officers of repeatedly disrupting activities at the estate despite subsisting court orders directing all parties to maintain the status quo in an ongoing civil property dispute.

The company said the situation worsened on 8 December 2025 when officers allegedly detained 13 labourers working within the estate. According to the petition, the workers were released after the firm’s site architect was pressured into making a cash payment to the officers. The affected workers are preparing sworn affidavits on the incident.

The engineering firm also cited an attempted forced entry on 21 November 2025, which it said contravened an earlier order granted on 5 November 2025 by the FCT High Court. Following the December incident, the company obtained another order on 9 December 2025 directing all sides to respect the status quo.

The petition warned that continued disregard for court directives could create a negative public perception of the Nigeria Police Force and potentially expose involved officers to judicial consequences.

To prevent further conflict, Reticulated Global Engineering Ltd called for the immediate redeployment of the officers linked to the matter, the temporary reassignment of a senior supervising officer, and an independent investigation—preferably by the Force Criminal Investigation Department—into the events of 8 December.

The firm reaffirmed its confidence in the IGP’s leadership and expressed optimism that timely intervention would help uphold due process and safeguard the integrity of the Police Force.
