President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday swore in five newly appointed permanent secretaries to fill existing vacancies in the federal civil service.
‎The brief ceremony, held at the State House, Abuja, took place before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the President.
‎The new permanent secretaries are Abdulkarim Ibrahim (North Central), Dr John Ezeamama, Dr Abdul Sule Garba (North West), Dr Ishiyaku Mohammed (North East) and Dr Ukaire Binyerem Chigbowu (South East).
‎The President subsequently administered the oath of office to them.
‎Mr Tinubu also swore in the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Aminu Yusuf, as well as two other commissioners.
A minute of silence was observed for the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Joy Ogwu, who died on October 13 at 79.
