In a significant political shift, three members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives from Kaduna State have officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmakers making this change are Honourables Abdulkarim Ahmed, representing the Kaduna South constituency; Aliyu Abdullahi, who represents the Ikara/Kubau constituency; and Sadiq Abdullahi, serving the Sabon Gari federal constituency.
Their defections were announced during a resumed plenary session on Tuesday, with Speaker Abbas Tajudeen reading separate letters detailing their decisions.
The former PDP representatives cited ongoing crises within their party and the interests of their constituents as key reasons for their departure.
Governor Ubani Sani of Kaduna State, a former lawmaker himself, attended the Green Chamber to witness this notable transition of lawmakers into his party.
This move marks a crucial moment in Kaduna’s political landscape, highlighting the evolving dynamics within Nigeria’s political parties.
