The UNGA session is scheduled from Monday, September 22, to Sunday, September 28.

According to Nkwocha, “Shettima is expected to participate alongside other global leaders in commemorating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations on Monday, September 22, at the UN headquarters.”

“The Vice President will also engage with dignitaries during the high-level general debates from Tuesday, September 23, through Sunday, September 28.”

Additionally, on behalf of President Tinubu, Shettima will present Nigeria’s national statement on Wednesday, September 24, between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. New York time.

Furthermore, the Vice President will take part in a special event focused on Climate for Heads of State and Government, hosted by the UN Secretary-General on the same day from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., where Nigeria is expected to announce its updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in accordance with the Paris Agreement.

Nkwocha also noted that Shettima is slated to attend a high-level roundtable on Adequate and Affordable Housing, organized by the President of Kenya on September 24, in addition to various bilateral meetings and events.
