Vice President Kashim Shettima has emphasized that President Bola Tinubu is resolute in his commitment to invest in youth and to transform the education sector significantly.
Shettima made this declaration on Wednesday while hosting a delegation from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Nigeria during a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja, led by UNICEF Nigeria’s country representative, Wafaa Abdelatef.
He noted that UNICEF represents a valuable partner for Nigeria in its pursuit of developmental goals, highlighting that President Tinubu has redefined modern leadership in the nation.
“President Bola Tinubu embodies courage and conviction, and he is actively working to reshape the understanding of contemporary governance in Nigeria,” Shettima commented. “We stand on the brink of revitalizing our economy and reconstructing our nation. The positive impacts of our reforms are becoming increasingly apparent, with a downward trend in inflation, and we expect further economic stabilization by the year’s end.”
Shettima expressed optimism that the collaboration with UNICEF would bring new experiences and insights, enhancing the effectiveness of ongoing initiatives. He reiterated the government’s dedication to partnering with UNICEF and other organizations to promote key programs, including the Nutrition 774 Initiative, Economic and Financial Inclusion, and the Nutrition Intervention Fund.
Earlier, Abdelatef praised Shettima for his strong leadership and advocacy for humanitarian efforts in Nigeria and beyond. He characterized him as a global citizen and reaffirmed UNICEF’s steadfast commitment to aligning with the priorities of President Tinubu’s administration, particularly in areas such as nutrition, human capital development, and education for girls.
He commended the administration’s initiatives, including the Nutrition 774 Initiative, the Nutrition Intervention Fund, and the Nutrition Bill, asserting that the government’s vision is clear and its mission attainable.
