All road leads to Lafia The Nasarawa State capital come to life on Saturday 2nd August, 2025, as people from all walks of life across various strata comprising prominent political figures in the country,serving and former Governors,National Assembly members, top Government functionaries, captains of industry, political associates, friends and well wishers stormed the ancient city of Lafia, Nasarawa state capital to honour one of Nasarawa proud son Distinguish. Senetor Ahmed Aiyu wadada Chairman Senete Committee on public accounts who was honoured with a traditional tittle of Magajin Dangin Lafia by HRH The Emier of Lafia Justice.Sidi Bage ( RTD).
The decision by the Lafia Emirate council to honour this astute and tested politician of honour ,dignity and moral rectitude seen as a golden fish that have no hidden place to hide in the political matrix of Nasarawa state who embodies services,politics and phylanthropy outside his own senetorial district and Emirate is a further testimony to his popularity and acceptability across the state following his long standing sacrifices,commitments and dedication not only to Lafia Emirate council and traditional institution in the state but also as a result of his immense contributions to the caused of democracy, good governance and accountable leadership that stamped him out in Nigeria politics.
Known for his bluntness,, intellectual prowess,political sagacity,administrative acumen and capacity to delivered result when entrusted with responsibilities wadada trademark right from his sojourn in the private sector specifically Business,economic and financial world where he spend the greater part of his life in ,is always marked by superlative performanced and impactful outcomes that always shocked his critics and detractors to their marrows leaving them agape and dumbfounded.it was this quality among other factors that make him an attractive bride to his people who dragged him into politics in 2003 where he contested for the House of Reps seat of his constituency and won the election that took him to the National Assembly in 2003 elections.
For the 8 years he represented the good people of keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal constituency of Nasarawa state, in the National Assembly,he has set new record in the history of Representative democracy in Nasarawa state, and succeeded to break the jinx of bad representation in his constituency through effective, result oriented ,focus and people’s centred representation that completely altered the backward socio economic lives of his people ushering in a new era of massive infrastructural drive and development which will be very difficult if not impossible to be replicated in the history of the constituency and by extension Nasarawa state.
He also succeeded to torched so many souls and families with his peoples centred representation anchored on love for the common and and passion for humanity which provides true dividends of democracy to the doorstep of the people within and outside his constituency excelling in all areas of his legislative responsibilities making him the best lawmaker representing the state In the National Assembly during his time.His constituency have witnessed massive development in all areas of human endeavours courtesy of his visionary leadership especially in the areas of Education, Health, infrastructures, youths and women,skills acquisition, community development, business supports,employment opportunities among others.
Keffi/ karu/ kokona Federal constituency from 2003 t0 2011,have witnessed massive constructions, renovations and rehabilitations of schools across various communities, supplies of learning and instructional materials,payments of schoolarships,WAEC, NECO, JAMB and other National examinations provisions of free medical services, constructions, equipping and expansion of wards,clinics and hospitals,constructions and rehabilitations of new and old roads,bridges, culverts, and draining across the length and breadth of his constituency,.
Others are massive empowerments programmes,skills acquisition,business supports and financial assistance,employment opportunities in Government ministries, departments and agencies, financial supports to youths,women groups and victims of natural disaster, community and services among others.He has also sponsored so many bills and motions that added value to Nigeria democracy and the country socio-economic development and that of his people. Some of his bills in the Green chamber includes Tobbaco control bill 2004,Federal Capital Territory Development Agency bill, chartered institute of capital market registration bill 2005,investments and securities tribunal Bill 2006,FCT satellite towns Development commission billl among others.
,He amplified and projected the image of the state and its people in the eyes of the world with his vibrancy, eloquence, oratory skills, frequent and brilliant contributions to National debates on the floor of the National Assembly which bring honour,dignity and respect to the state.Even after leaving the House in 2011,he continued to deployed his hard earned wealth from his businesses to the services of the people of Nasarawa state and Humanity through his foundation known as wadada Development foundation especially in the areas of Education,Health,business supports,employment opportunities,Empowerment which culminated into introducing of polo game in Nasarawa in supports of Education and the less privileged.
As a senetor in the last two years wadada have demonstrated capacity, competence and credibility in the discharged of his legislative duties with his legacies and impacts felt across all the nooks and crannies of his senetorial district and beyond.He is lead all Nasarawa Federal lawmakers in the National Assembly in sponsoring of bills with 10 bills to his credit within just two years including a bill for the conversion of the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa his alma mata to University of Mining,Engineering and technology and the bill for the establishment of Federal College of Fishery and Acquatic Sciences Umuasha which have since been passed into law by the National Assembly awaiting presidential assent.
Attracting so many Federal Government road projects in 2025 budget,dishing out of permanent and pensionable appointments from Government ministries, parastatals ,military and para military agencies to his constituents ,payment of WAEC fees for many school students with 774 students beneficiaries in 2004 alone,distributions of medical equipments to 10 General hospitals in his senetorial district, renovations of schools,attracting corporate entities intervations,distributions of food items,empowerments, skills acquisition among others.
It is therefore not surprising that the Emier of lafia HRH Justice. Sidi Bage ( RTD) saw the need to confered this Revered traditional tittle of Magajin Dangin Lafia on senetor. Ahmed Aliyu wadada( sarkin yakin keffi) a leading Gubernatorial aspirant in Nasarawa state come 2027 and chairman senere committee on public accounts currently representing Nasarawa west senetorial district in the National Assemby.
Speaking at the turbaning ceremony which took place in lafia Saturday,The Emier of Lafia, who also doubles as the chairman Nasarawa state traditional council HRH justice.Sidi Bage( RTD) stated by going down to memory lane to explained the bond of friendship and intimate relationship spanning over decades that have existed between his late father and senetor wadada father late Alh. Aliyu Danyaya of blessed memory which both families sustained till date inline with their parents wishes which would go along way to preserve and strengthen their families bond.
He noted that his decision and that of the Lafia Emirate council to bestowed this traditional tittle of Magajin Dangi on wadada is in recognition of his significant contributions to human capital Development, grassroots outreach and overall progress of Nasarawa state, lafia Emirate and Nigeria as a whole as well as his phylanthropist gestures and leadership qualities describing him as a role model to younger generations and an inspiration to aspiring leaders.
According to him senetor wadada have make positive impacts within and outside his immidiate community in an unprecedented manner hence the need to honour him with this traditional tittle which also reflects appreciation for his credible performance at the senete and his commitments to promoting peace and unity across the state and the country as a whole and he urged him to use his new tittle to further advanced unity mutual respect,caused of the common man and the preservation of cultural values within the traditional institution.
On his part,president Bola Ahmed Tinubu represented by the secretary to the Government of the federation ( SGF ) Senetor. George Akume ,described Wadada as his good friend and urged him to use his new tittle to foster peace and National cohesion adding that, His elevation to this prestigious tittle is not only a profound personal honour but also a resounding affirmation of his unwavering commitments to public service, community development and preservation of cultural heritage.
“As you step into this noble traditional role I trust that you will leverage your influence to further promote unity ,peace and sustainable development within Nasarawa state in particular ,Lafia Emirate and traditional institution in the state.it is a befitting recognition of your sterling contributions to Nation building, your distinguish legislative career as well as your consistent advocacy for good governance, equity and social progress..May this new chapter of your life be filled with divine guidance, wisdom and strength to discharge your duties with honour and distinction “
Also speaking,The senete president Senetor Godswill Akpabio represented by the Deputy senete president Senetor.Barau Jibrin congratulates wadada over his well deserved tittle describing him as a man of honour,intergrity and a phylanthropy who cares for the general wellbeing of the citizens especially the less privileged in the society stressing that,they are all proud of him in the National Assembly. While,Gov.Abdullahi sule on his part also pour encomiums on wadada for his leadership qualities and legacy to humanity.
In his acceptance speech,Sen.Ahmed Aliyu wadada expressed gratitude to God almighty for sparing his life to witnessed this honour and recognition done to him and thank the Emier of Lafia HRH justice.Sidi Bage ( RTD) and the entire people of the Emirate for finding him worthy of this tittle which will spur him to continue with the good work of working for the peace, unity and development of the state,The Emirate council and Nigeria as a whole for the betterment of humanity.
