In a significant military operation, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully killed 35 terrorists in airstrikes conducted as part of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) near the border between Nigeria and Cameroon.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF Spokesman, announced that the precision strikes were executed in the early hours of Saturday, 23 August 2025.
Ejodame explained that the airstrikes targeted a group of over 35 terrorists who had assembled near the Nigeria–Cameroon border after launching an assault on ground troops at Kumshe.
He further noted that the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, relying on extensive intelligence from multiple sources, carried out precision attacks in successive runs, successfully engaging the terrorists across four identified assembly locations.
“Following the operation, we re-established communication with ground forces, who confirmed that the situation in their vicinity had stabilised,” he stated.
Ejodame emphasised that this latest operation underscores the NAF’s steadfast commitment to providing close air support to ground troops while disrupting terrorist logistics and movement corridors in the North-East border regions.
Additionally, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, praised the aircrew for their professionalism and reiterated that the NAF would continue to conduct aggressive, intelligence-driven air operations to ensure the complete dismantling of terrorist threats to Nigeria’s sovereignty.
