An end in sight for the Kelechi Iheanacho transfer saga, as he has reached an agreement on personal terms with a Turkish club prepared to match Sevilla’s demands.
Despite Kelechi Iheanacho’s impressive performance in pre-season and the praise he received from head coach Mathias Almeyda, he is still on the transfer list for Sevilla.
Turkish Super Lig side Samunspor are eyeing the Super Eagles striker and are going to make him the latest in an increasing list of Super Eagles players plying their trade in Turkey.
Elanza Sports reported, Iheanacho has been courted by a number of clubs this summer, including Besiktas, who were hoping to reunite him with his former Leicester City teammate, Wilfred Ndidi.
However, Samunspor have now stolen the march on them, according to a report from Spanish publication Goldeoro.
Going by the report, the Turkish side are willing to match the €3.5 million request made by Sevilla for the Nigerian’s services.
They have reached an agreement on personal terms and will pay the Nigerians 1.5 million every year until 2027. Before Samunspor’s interest, Iheanacho was close to joining Pumas in Mexico, but the deal broke down.
