The tranquil communities of Ndi Ejezie, Umualoma, and Ndiakuwata have been plunged into mourning following a violent attack by suspected members of IPOB/ESN, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals and various injuries to others.

This tragic incident was confirmed by Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Henry Okoye.

He reported that the Commissioner of Police for Imo State, CP Aboki Danjuma, has condemned the horrific assault, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, July 25, 2025, in Ndi-Ejezie, Umualoma, and Ndiakuwata Uno, located in the Ideato North local government area.

CP Danjuma characterized the attack as barbaric, inhumane, and completely unacceptable. He assured the public that the police command has deployed sufficient operational resources and intelligence efforts to identify, apprehend, and bring those responsible to justice.

In response to the incident, CP Danjuma has led a tactical unit in a thorough search of the affected areas, confirming that the situation is now under control. He emphasized that proactive security measures are being implemented to prevent further violence and to restore lasting peace to the region.

Expressing sincere condolences to the families of the victims, CP Danjuma offered prayers for the souls of the deceased and wished for a swift recovery for the injured. He extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and urged them to remain resilient during this challenging time.

The Command has called on the public to stay calm, vigilant, and compliant with the law.
