In a heartfelt statement, Chief Kente paid tribute to the sacrifices of Nigeria’s democratic heroes, particularly the late Chief MKO Abiola, whose commitment to democratic ideals remains a guiding light.

Highlighting June 12 as a symbol of freedom, justice, and equality, Chief Kente described it as a testament to the triumph of the people’s will over dictatorship.

He emphasized that democracy in Taraba State has fostered unity in diversity and amplified citizens’ voices.

Chief Kente called on Governor Kefas to intensify efforts in delivering good governance, urging tangible development, improved infrastructure, and accessible social amenities to address the hardships faced by Tarabans

“The promises made must translate into actions to alleviate the challenges our people face,” he stated, encouraging the governor to use the remaining two years of his tenure to rebuild trust and drive prosperity.

He also urged Tarabans to cherish and protect democratic privileges, such as the right to vote and freedom of expression, while advocating for constructive criticism and patience with the state government. “Let us work together to restore hope and build a prosperous Taraba,” Chief Kente concluded, rallying citizens to safeguard democracy in the state.
