The coalition acknowledged his role in facilitating the acquisition of modern weaponry, upgrading military infrastructure, and implementing strategic reforms to boost the country’s security apparatus.

“The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring that Nigeria’s armed forces are well-equipped and capable of addressing contemporary security challenges,” the statement read.

“His efforts in modernizing military operations and procuring advanced equipment have significantly improved the efficiency of security personnel on the front lines.”

Nigeria has been grappling with security challenges, including terrorism, banditry, and communal conflicts, particularly in the northern region.

The CNF noted that Matawalle’s initiatives have contributed to improved coordination between security agencies and enhanced the military’s capacity to respond to threats.

“We have seen increased investment in military hardware, improved training for security personnel, and better intelligence-sharing mechanisms,” said Yusuf Ibrahim, a spokesperson for the coalition.

“These measures are crucial in the fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality.”

Matawalle, a former governor of Zamfara State, has been vocal about the need for a comprehensive approach to security, combining military action
