The Chief Executive Officer of the Individual Systematic Identification (ISI) initiative, Peter Folajimi Buraimoh, has called on the federal government to collaborate with ISI in realising President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda for artificial intelligence (AI) in Nigeria.

Buraimoh made the appeal in an e-statement shared with journalists in Lagos over the weekend. He urged the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, alongside relevant agencies, to work with ISI in advancing AI systems across the country.

According to him, strategic partnerships between the government and private sector initiatives like ISI would accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation, enhance technological innovation, and improve national security.

“The integration of artificial intelligence into governance and economic development is critical for Nigeria’s future,” Buraimoh stated.

“ISI is committed to supporting the federal government in achieving its vision for AI-driven progress.”

He further highlighted the potential of AI in key sectors such as healthcare, education, security, and financial services. Buraimoh stressed that AI-powered solutions could enhance service delivery, streamline processes, and drive economic growth.

Nigeria has been making efforts to harness AI and emerging technologies, with the Tinubu administration prioritising digital innovation as a key driver of development.

Buraimoh expressed confidence that with the right partnerships, Nigeria could position itself as a leader in AI innovation across Africa.

He urged policymakers to create an enabling environment for technology-driven initiatives to thrive.
