Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District in the 10th Assembly, has launched a project to construct 30 boreholes, including solar-powered systems, across communities within his constituency.
As part of the initiative, the senator dispatched a delegation, led by Hon. Francis Sani Zimbo, former Executive Chairman of Zango-Kataf Local Government Area, to Afana Bajju, one of the beneficiary communities, for an on-site evaluation.
Speaking to reporters, Senator Katung’s Senior Legislative Aide confirmed that the contract for the project has been awarded.
“We are currently identifying communities and assessing suitable construction sites,” the aide said.
A resident of Afana Bajju, Kayit, a former National Youth Leader of the Bajju Development Association, commended the senator’s commitment to grassroots development.
“Special thanks to Distinguished Sen. Katung for sending a delegation for on-site verification. They saw the need firsthand. Mun gode (thank you),” Kayit remarked.
This project underscores Senator Katung’s dedication to improving access to clean water in his constituency, leveraging his experience as a former Commissioner of Water Resources and Finance in Kaduna State.
The borehole initiative forms part of the senator’s broader agenda to enhance basic amenities and infrastructure for the communities he represents.
