Elders in Kajju Land, who previously opposed the selection of Luka Kogi Yabwat as Agwam Kajju II, have resolved to end their grievances and support his reign for the betterment of the chiefdom.

The reconciliation was announced on Tuesday following a meeting in Kafanchan convened by Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Nuhu Kure of the Vision Pioneer Throne Room Trust Ministry. Dr. Kure, along with Dr. Joseph Maiyaki and Ambassador Philip Dauda of the palace building committee, led the mediation efforts.

Baba Kure Mallam, leader of the aggrieved elders, said the group has decided to “give peace a chance” and described the reconciliation as timely. The elders had previously opposed Yabwat’s ascension, citing alleged irregularities in the selection process and the cutting of historic trees deemed sacred.

“We are grateful to Apostle Kure and his team for their commitment to fostering peace in Kajju Land,” Mallam said, urging residents to support the king and the reconciliation process. He also called on Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, to restore the first-class status of the Kajju Chiefdom, emphasizing its importance as the second-largest in the state after the Zazzau Emirate.

In his remarks, Apostle Kure highlighted the necessity of unity for societal progress, warning that “a house divided against itself cannot stand.”

Agwam Kajju II, HRH Luka Kogi Yabwat, assured the community of his commitment to addressing grievances and fostering progress for the Jju people.

Various speakers at the meeting expressed optimism, describing the reconciliation as essential to the chiefdom’s peace and development.
