Hon. Daniel Amos, the Member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, has expressed his concerns regarding the Kaduna State Governor’s directive that prevents traditional rulers from attending opposition events, labeling it as unjust.

Amos voiced his frustrations during the flag-off ceremony of his third medical outreach, the launch of empowerment grants, and the commissioning of a constituency office in Kafanchan, the administrative center of Jema’a Local Government Area.

He pointed out that this marks the second or third instance where traditional rulers have been invited to events only to be absent. Conversations with these leaders revealed that the state government has prohibited their participation, which Amos believes is deeply unfair.

“As representatives elected to serve our communities, we hold our positions in trust just like the State Government,” he stated.

While acknowledging Governor Uba Sani as a responsive leader who understands the dynamics of politics, Amos emphasized the need for cooperation between elected officials and traditional rulers to foster meaningful progress.

He lamented that if traditional leaders are unable to attend events organized by their elected representatives, it signifies a failure to bridge existing gaps in the community.

“This is not merely a political gathering; the beneficiaries of today’s medical outreach and empowerment program extend beyond members of the PDP,” he asserted.

Amos reminded attendees that traditional rulers are first and foremost members and citizens of the Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency before their political affiliations.

He urged the government to recognize that all elected officials are dedicated to serving their constituents and stressed the importance of allowing traditional rulers to participate in such programs.

Amos reiterated his call for understanding and collaboration in the pursuit of community development.
