Under the leadership of Engr Ahmed Kadi Amshi FNSE as Executive Chairman, National Assembly Service Commission NASC and his commissioners saddled with the leadership position in the last three and half years spanned from 2020 till date, the issue of succession to the National Assembly management leadership and other positions has been seamless.

Soon after his appointment in 2020, the leadership of NASC met the former Clerk to the National Assembly CNA, Sani Omolori who retired after attaining 60 years in service without controversy along with many Deputy Clerks and Clerks who were due for retirement.

The positive development also paved way for the appointment of Arc Ojo Amos Olatunde in 2021 and spent about two years before his retirement from service.

The appointment of Arc Ojo Amos Olatunde ran till 2023 when he processed on terminal leave to give access to his successor and outgoing Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Magaji Tambawal.

Sani Magaji Tambawal who was appointed after his predecessor also spent about two years in office before the appointment of Barrister Kamoru Ogunlana as the new Clerk to the National Assembly CNA after the expiration of the tenure of Sani Magaji Tambawal .

Aside due process and transparency saddled with the previous and current appointment of Clerks and Deputy Clerks among other staffers of the National Assembly, the uninterrupted transition from one head to the other had been the bane of administrative acumen demonstrated by the current leadership of National Assembly Service Commission NASC and the commissioners.

The wealth of experience and leadership maturity displayed that doused the three successive transition from one Clerk to the National Assembly CNA to the other was an impetus to good leadership and thorough management of the Ahmed Kadi Amshi FNSE led management of the National Assembly Service Commission NASC.

This included training and retraining, capacity building and development both at local and international programs that had equiped members of staff both at National Assembly Service Commission NASC and National Assembly Management NASS, having contributed greatly to the efforts of lawmakers to provide needed laws for the peace and stability of the country.

Aside the succession circle achieved by the current leadership of NASC and it’s commissioners, the uninterrupted January -December budget circle maintained over the years , not minding the successive leadership at NASS was quite encouraging.

With the appointment of the new Clerk to the National Assembly CNA, Barrister Kamoru Ogunlana due to assume duty im February, 2025 , the enabling environment has been created by the National Assembly Service Commission NASC for uninterrupted succession plan to the National Assembly Management NASS, devoid of crises, maneuvering, lobbying among many others .

The legacy of good leadership demonstrated by the Executive Chairman, National Assembly Service Commission and the commissioners will be a veritable tools for good governance going forward.
