The Oodua Integrity Group has petitioned the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG (rtd) Hamisu Argungu, the Inspector General of Police, and the Minister of Police Affairs over the actions of the Delta State Commissioner of Police.

According to the group, Commissioner Fred Ajudua and Senator Nwaoboshi conspired to humiliate and unlawfully arrest Okoli Leonard Chukwujekwu over a piece of land he owns, despite holding a Certificate of Occupancy and fencing the property.

This incident reportedly occurred despite an earlier directive from DIG (rtd) Hamisu Argungu, the PSC Chairman, instructing police officers and personnel to refrain from handling land-related cases.

During a press conference in Abuja, Babajide Omolewa, Head of Investigations for the Oodua Integrity Group, revealed that Senator Nwaoboshi and Fred Ajudua allegedly lured the Delta State Commissioner of Police into arresting Chukwujekwu, infringing on his fundamental human rights as the rightful owner of the property.

The group pointed out that this case had been reported to the Force Headquarters in Abuja over eight months ago, with both Ajudua and Senator Nwaoboshi summoned.

However, the two individuals reportedly refused to comply with the invitation. According to Omolewa, all relevant documents proving Chukwujekwu’s ownership of the land remain in his possession.

The Oodua Integrity Group is calling on the PSC Chairman, the Inspector General of Police, and the Minister of Police Affairs to intervene, conduct a thorough investigation, and bring those responsible to account.

The group expressed its disapproval of the actions of the Delta State Commissioner of Police, emphasizing that he is bound by rules of engagement.

They warned that a failure by higher authorities to address this issue would further tarnish the reputation of the police force, urging an unbiased investigation to uphold justice.
