Elisha Abbo, a former senator who represented Adamawa North, has threatened to sue one Wange David over an allegation that he made sex tapes with her.
In a recent interview, Wange said she made 32 sex tapes with him.
She accused him of leaking a particular clip making the rounds on the internet because “he is the only one that has access to that video”.
But the former lawmaker has since denied the allegation.
In a letter to David, Odiyowvi Osusu, counsel to Abbo, issued a 72-hour request to make a public retraction and apology or face a suit.
“Our Client has been made aware of a series of videos published on social media and online media platforms to deliberately and maliciously malign his person,” Osusu said.
“Particularly, a video was published on the 4th day of September 2024 on ‘Naija Police U’, and an interview was granted to Trust TV News, published via their YouTube platform on the 5th day of September 2024.
“By the said video and interview, you falsely and maliciously used defamatory words against our client, expressly accusing him of sexual exploitation, publishing and distribution of intimate videos, proliferation of revenge porn and blackmail.
“These videos have caused significant reputational damage to our client and misleading the public. The statements and claims made in these videos are factually incorrect and have resulted in unnecessary harm to our client’s personal and professional reputation.
“Our client has instructed us to make a demand, and we hereby formally request that within 72 hours of receiving this letter, you publish or air an unequivocal public retraction and apology on national TV and in three national newspapers.
“Our firm must approve the terms of this retraction, and we expect you to revert to us within 24 hours of receipt of this letter.
“You shall also be expected to circulate the retraction and apology on the same platforms wherein your interviews were circulated.
“Save, except we will receive a satisfactory reply from you within the timelines stipulated above.”
