The Unemployed Youth Association of Nigeria (UYAN), Kwara State Chapter, has urged its members across the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to give the Federal government a chance to address their concerns.

The State chapter Chairman, Comrade Rasheed Shuaib, said youths should engage in constructive dialogue and collaborate with the government to find solutions to their challenges.

According to him, considering the government’s efforts, the association urges fellow youths to be patient, as there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

“We commend the government’s efforts in engaging with traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other critical stakeholders to address some of the challenges leading to the protest,” he said.

“We understand the frustrations and concerns of our fellow citizens, but we, the UYAN Kwara State Chapter, are against the planned protest.

“We appeal to our members and fellow youths across the 36 states and FCT to exercise patience with the federal government led by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.”

However, the association also calls on the government to always consider ordinary citizens in any policy they intend to implement and ensure their voices are heard and their needs are met.

Furthermore, while acknowledging the government’s palliative measures across the states, UYAN expresses disappointment that these palliatives often do not reach the intended beneficiaries.

“We advocate for monitoring and evaluation (M&E) by Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to ensure effective implementation,” the association added.
