This decision follows the Council of Legal Education’s recent approval for Law School admissions.

State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Dr. Junaidu Bello Marshall, announced the governor’s commitment, noting it as a testament to Idris’ dedication to advancing the state.

In January 2024, Dr. Idris had similarly approved N27.5 million for the registration fees of 38 Kebbi indigenes at the Law School.

Dr. Idris has also allocated N45 million for Kebbi State lawyers to attend the Nigerian Bar Association National Conference in Lagos, scheduled for August 2024.

Furthermore, he is sponsoring seven Ministry of Justice lawyers to pursue a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, adding to the seven previously enrolled.

The governor is spearheading legislative reviews to align Kebbi State’s laws with national policies and international standards.

This includes the Administration of Criminal Justice Law, Child Rights Law, and Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law.

Idris also initiated the Kebbi State Water Users Association (Establishment) Law 2024 to meet World Bank requirements for irrigation farming, essential for the state’s SPINE program slated for September 2024.

In efforts to improve the state’s justice system, Governor Idris has approved solar-powered systems for several court buildings and the renovation of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Legal Aid Council office, and their operational vehicles.
