The Jigawa government has dismissed as misleading reports insinuating that four persons killed in farmers/herders clash at Baranda Forest in Dutse Local Government Area of the state.

Mr Salisu Abdullahi, the Executive Secretary, Farmers and Herders Board, gave the clarification at a news conference on Monday in Dutse.
Abdullahi said that there was no reported incident of death in a clash as being insinuated, adding however that a misunderstanding ensued between a farmer and a herder over the blockage of cattle route.
He said that a farmer, who is cultivating crops in the area encroached into the route earmarked for animals passing to the stream to drink water.
“The parties had misunderstanding over blockage of the cattle route at that moment but the issue settled, and nobody killed during and after the hot argument.
“Normalcy has been restored in the community over the minor tension,” adding that people had gone back to their normal businesses.
However, the Spokesman of the Police Command in the state, DSP Lawan Shiisu earlier confirmed four persons wounded in a clash at Baranda Forest.
Shiisu was quoted  in a statement as saying that, “we received the information about the incident on Tuesday at about 2:15 p.m.”
“While dialogue was ongoing among the critical stakeholders, the police team seized the opportunity to identify three injured victims and rescue six others who were about to be attacked”.(NAN)
