A survivor recounted that the first bomber, a young woman carrying a baby, infiltrated the wedding venue and detonated the IED. This tragic event occurred on Saturday at Tashan Mararaba near the Fire Service in Gwoza.

The young mother, seemingly in her twenties, posed as a wedding guest before carrying out the attack.

In a horrific twist, a second bomber, posing as a mourner, detonated another IED at the burial ground, killing one more person during the victims’ funerals.

The injured are currently receiving treatment at the General Hospital in Gwoza. In response to the attacks, the military has imposed a curfew in Gwoza.

As of now, security agencies have not provided an official comment. Efforts to contact spokespersons from the North-East Joint Taskforce Operations Hadin Kai and the 7 Division and Sector One OPHK have been unsuccessful.
