NEMA Director-General Hajia Zubaida Umar, represented by Southwest Zonal Director Mr. Steven Adewale, stated, “In fulfillment of his promise to reduce the impact of the current economic downturn and in line with his Renewed Hope Agenda, Mr. President approved the release of 42,000 metric tonnes of food commodities from the national strategic reserve.”

She added, “The assorted food commodities, including maize, sorghum, and garri, will be distributed to all local government areas in the state. Twenty percent of the food items will be given to religious organizations, while three percent will go to boarding schools in all the local governments.”
