In a major development, the Kano State Government has issued an order for the demolition of the Nasarawa Mini Palace occupied by the embattled Emir Aminu Ado Bayero.

This comes after the Federal High Court ruled against the repeal of the Kano Emirates Council Law.

The state government has made it clear that the court has affirmed the deposition of Bayero, reinforcing the position that Emir Muhammadu Sanusi is the legitimate traditional ruler.
Speaking at a press conference, Kano State Attorney General Haruna Isah Dederi stressed the urgency of renovating the facility, which is owned by the state government.

Dederi announced that the government has already made arrangements for the reconstruction and renovation of the property.
This includes the immediate demolition and reconstruction of the deteriorated wall fence.
He reiterated that the ruling of the Kano High Court validates the government’s actions, solidifying Emir Muhammad Sanusi’s position as the emir of the esteemed Kano Emirate.

Consequently, Aminu Ado Bayero is considered to have trespassed on the Nasarawa Mini Palace, the government said.

Elanza News recalled that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, on May 25, 2024, ordered the arrest of Bayero, citing his role in creating unrest within the state.
However, security agents, including soldiers and policemen, were deployed to guard the mini palace, preventing Bayero’s arrest.

Elanza News reports that the Kano State Government’s decision to demolish Aminu Ado Bayero’s mini palace has sparked significant interest and debate.
