In a significant legal twist, the High Court in Kano has nullified the suspension of Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The ruling, delivered by Justice Usman Mallam Naaba, effectively overturns the interim injunction imposed on April 17, 2024, as reported by Politics Nigeria.

This injunction aimed to maintain the status quo regarding Ganduje’s suspension by certain executives from his ward, as of April 15.

Amidst allegations of corruption levelled against him by the state governor, Ganduje faced suspension from the leadership of the APC at Ganduje ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government. However, the recent court ruling has turned the tide in his favour.

Not only has the court reversed Ganduje’s suspension, but it has also barred him from identifying as a member of the APC. Additionally, the ruling prohibits Ganduje from overseeing any activities of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC.

The court’s decision came in response to an ex parte motion initiated by Dr. Ibrahim Sa’ad on behalf of two executive members of the APC Ganduje ward.

Laminu Sani, the assistant secretary, and Haladu Gwanjo, the legal adviser, were among the nine ward executive members who endorsed Ganduje’s suspension.
