The Federal Government has announced a two-day public holiday on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 9th and 10th, 2024, to observe the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
In a statement released on Sunday by the Ministry of Interior’s permanent secretary, Aishetu Ndayako, Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo conveyed the government’s best wishes to the Muslim community for completing the fasting period during the holy month of Ramadan.
Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, extends heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Ummah for successfully completing the fasting period of the holy month of Ramadan.
Minister Tunji-Ojo urges the Muslim community to embrace and embody virtues such as kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighbourliness, and compassion, mirroring the example set by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
He further encourages Nigerians to foster unity, emphasizing its role in achieving peace and solidarity across the nation.
The Minister extends warm wishes to all members of the Muslim community for a joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration, praying for the continued peace, blessings, and favour of Allah upon both individuals and the nation as a whole.
