The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) youth wing has commended President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sani Uba, and the Nigerian Army for the release of abducted Kuriga primary school children.

The national coordinator of the group, Comrade Maikano Jerry, in a statement, said the release of the abducted school children by bandits came as a sweet melody to the ears of us all.

He said, “Today we woke up to the news of the school children returned back safely and will be reunited with their parents.

“We wish to sincerely commend the efforts made by the various stakeholders involved in bringing the children back home.

“While we appreciate and applaud the efforts made, we wish to call on the President and our dear Governor to ensure more proactive measures in safeguarding the state than resorting to reactive measures that might endanger the state and the lives or properties of the citizens.”

The national coordinator said the leadership of the National Youth Wing of SOKAPU is ever ready to collaborate with all relevant stakeholders in keeping our people safe, as government and our primary duty as leaders.

“We further appeal to our youths to ensure that they collaborate with the relevant security agencies in intelligence gathering that will lead to our safety. Once again, Mr. Governor, thank you for making the safety of our people a priority of your administration.”
