In the wake of the harrowing abduction of more than 200 students in Kaduna state, discussions reached a crescendo during the Federal Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday.

President Bola Tinubu has unequivocally mandated security operatives not to engage in negotiations or entertain any ransom demands from the abductors throughout the rescue mission.

Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, conveyed the President’s decree to State House Correspondents. He underscored the imperative for security forces to relentlessly pursue the abductors and ensure the safe liberation of the hostages, without acceding to any ransom requests.

Dire Directive Amidst Crisis
The abduction transpired at Government Secondary School and LEA Primary School in Kuriga, Kaduna State, where marauding bandits launched an assault, resulting in the abduction of over 280 students and educators.

Nationwide Outcry
The incident has triggered widespread condemnation and apprehension across the country, as the assailants brazenly seized the students and teachers, casting a shadow of fear over the Kuriga area of the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
