Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, has announced a special monetary reward for Olatunji Baruwa, the Goalkeeper Coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, who contributed to their success in securing the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Silver medal.
Government House in Lafia, Governor Sule expressed his delight at discovering that Baruwa, originally from Osun State, also serves as the goalkeeper trainer for Nasarawa United, the state-owned men’s football club.
Governor Sule shared his excitement about Baruwa’s role during Nigeria’s AFCON journey, highlighting his crucial contribution to the team’s performance and expressing hopes for his continued success in developing local talent.

Governor Sule extended his support to Nasarawa United’s Supporters’ Club and reaffirmed his commitment to seeing the team return to the Premier League. He emphasised his administration’s efforts to invest in the club’s players for long-term success.

He pledged to reciprocate the kindness by working towards promoting Nasarawa United to the Nigeria Premier League in the upcoming season.
