In a bold move towards revolutionizing Nigeria’s housing sector, Oladimeji Oyetunde Ojo, the newly appointed Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), vows not only to deliver cost-effective residences to Nigerians but also to streamline bureaucratic processes within the agency.

During a courtesy call by the management team of Shelter Afrique Development Bank at the FHA headquarters, Ojo articulated his commitment to ensuring high-quality, affordable housing solutions across all regions of Nigeria, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Embracing Nationwide Accessibility
Under Ojo’s leadership, the FHA pledges to decentralize its housing initiatives, extending beyond the traditional focus areas of Lagos and Abuja to reach every corner of the nation.

With a focus on inclusivity, the FHA aims to swiftly implement housing projects catering to various income levels, including one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and studio apartments, to accommodate low-income earners, mirroring successful models observed in other developing nations.

Recognizing the urgency of the housing crisis, Ojo emphasizes the agency’s readiness to operate tirelessly, even in adverse conditions, to meet the pressing needs of ordinary Nigerians seeking affordable housing options.

Strengthening Collaborative Efforts
Thierna Habib Hann, Managing Director of Shelter Afrique Development Bank, commended the long-standing partnership between the bank and the FHA, dating back to 1988.

Expressing a commitment to significant investment in Nigeria’s housing sector, Hann highlighted plans to allocate $25 billion in 2024 and beyond, leveraging collaborations with the African Development Bank (AFDB), Nigeria, and Kenya to drive sustainable housing development initiatives.
