The Kano police swiftly took action, arresting five suspects allegedly involved in inciting violence during the celebrations.

According to Commissioner Hussaini Gumel, two victims are currently receiving medical attention at General Hospital Gaya.

The Commissioner emphasized that a thorough investigation would precede the court charges against the apprehended suspects.

Cautioning against political violence, Gumel stressed the increased security measures in identified locations to prevent any breach of law and order.

Security has been heightened strategically, with a call to political leaders to advise their supporters against provocative language that may lead to violence.

Gumel urged all political parties to celebrate responsibly, respecting the rights of the public. He warned that any attempt to disrupt peace would face legal consequences.

Emphasizing the commitment to citizens’ security, Gumel encouraged everyone to continue their lawful activities without fear.
