Contrary to the initial impressions held by traders and some stakeholders regarding the purported and contentious eviction notice issued to occupants of Wuse Market stores, the global information team conducted an investigation.

Their report presents a clear picture, implicating the immediate past Group Managing Director of the Abuja Investment and Property Development Company Ltd, who initiated the idea and allocated shop spaces to certain high-ranking FCTA officials, AIPDC, and other notable Nigerians.

According to reports, the Abuja Market Management Company merely oversees the market and was not involved in the conceptualization.

The former GMD served eviction notices to shop owners, raising prices to sixty million naira per shop, rendering them unaffordable. Gold shops, initially under the custody of mostly FCTA AIPDC officials, were also eventually sold.

Ideally, the GMD of Abuja Investment Ltd should have collaborated with the Abuja Market Management, the subsidiary tasked with managing markets in FCT.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike should urgently intervene to halt the corrupt decisions adversely affecting Wuse Market’s humble shop owners.

The Minister should reevaluate the MOU orchestrated by the former GMD and empower Abuja Market Management Ltd to assume control.

The AIPDC’s actions nearly tarnished the reputation of AMML until an undercover GIT intelligence reporter presented a factual account.

Anabel Crown, the head of the Global Information Team’s intelligence desk, implores Minister Wike, who recently resolved the crisis in AMML, to empower and enhance the capacity of Abuja Market Management Ltd for improved revenue.

Currently, AMML holds the authority to construct and manage markets in FCT. The public is now informed of the true situation regarding the Wuse Market controversy, prompting affected traders to seek assistance from Brekete Family and various anti-graft agencies.
