The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 7, 200 bags of rice were distributed while 10,000 wrappers, 20,000 notebooks and 5,000 school bags were also given out accross the five LGAs of her senatorial district.

Distributing the commodity to the constituents, the lawmaker said that the gesture was her way of celebrating the Christmas and New Year with them.

“As your representative at the National Assembly, I feel indebted to you as my people, regardless of our political affiliations, to celebrate the Christmas with you in this manner.

“The significance of distributing the rice to households across the district, is aimed at enabling everyone to celebrate the festive season with their families, ” she said.

Akpoti-Uduaghan added: “The essence of this gesture is to allow my constituents partake in the joyous celebrations of this season.”

A widow, Mrs Christine Jimoh, while carrying her rice in tears of joy, thanked Akpoti-Uduaghan for taking off the heat of the economic hardship off her shoulder.

“This demonstration of love to us by our Natasha is but timely, considering what most of us are passing through. Only God will bless Natasha for us for this gesture,” Jimoh said.
