In a profound demonstration of corporate social responsibility, Access Bank’s Retail Operations Group has stepped up to support healthcare in 2023.

Their commitment to nurturing love for babies and mothers takes a tangible form as they generously donate vital hospital equipment to the Primary Health Care Centre (PHC) in Gurku 1, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Under the inspiring leadership of Ms Emem Ukoh, the Zonal Head of Abuja 1 Retail Operations, Access Bank’s CSR theme for 2023, “Nurturing Love for Babies and Mothers,” becomes a guiding light for positive change.

This dedicated team is committed to making a real impact in communities across Nigeria.

The equipment donated by Access Bank includes essential items such as a Double Suction Machine, Delivery Forceps, Delivery Beds, and a Commode Wheelchair.

These provisions are complemented by Resting beds after delivery, an Analog Sterilizer, and comfortable mattresses.

These contributions aim to ensure that women receive the best possible care during pregnancy and childbirth.

Ms Ukoh emphasizes that Access Bank’s CSR initiatives are a way of giving back to the community with unwavering dedication.

This sentiment echoes throughout the organization as they have also renovated the delivery room at the PHC.

Their aim is to guarantee that women in this community receive top-notch service and treatment during pregnancy and childbirth.

Access Bank’s CSR extends far and wide. It’s not confined to a single location. In fact, they have executed similar projects in six different Primary Health Centres across the country.

Their commitment to bettering healthcare for women and babies is clear, and they pledge to continue this vital work.

Access Bank’s CSR initiative is a collective endeavor, with key members of the organization actively participating.

Individuals such as Udeme Nwosu, Zonal Head of Abuja 2 Retail Operations, and Morenike Ojewunmi, Head of Retail Operations – North, are actively engaged in the cause.

Alongside them are dedicated members of the Retail Operations Group and the Sales team.

The impact of Access Bank’s CSR initiative is profound.

Mr Uye Wumani, the Health Secretary of Karu LGA, expressed his gratitude, recognizing the incredible opportunity this initiative presents.

He encourages the community to utilize the resources provided to them, ensuring that the hospital can provide better care for women.

Ms Ibrahim Happy Auta, the Principal Community Health Extension Worker overseeing the PHC in Gurku 1, highlights how this initiative fulfills a dream.

The bank’s renovation of the Labour Room and the generous equipment donations are things that their annual funding couldn’t achieve.

It’s a heartwarming testament to the positive impact of Access Bank’s CSR.

Community member Hajiya Sadiya Haruna acknowledges the limitations of the PHC but is hopeful for change.

With the donation of this essential equipment, women in the community can look forward to improved healthcare during pregnancy and childbirth.

Access Bank’s CSR is making a tangible difference in the lives of those it serves.
