Concerned Labour Group, (CLG) has called on the Leadership of the Labour Party, LP not to gamble or trade the party’s ticket if it is serious in winning the 2024 Governorship election in the state.

The group while drumming support for the frontline LP aspirant, Dr Dorry Efosa Okojie in Benin said the party must be wary of ‘migrant’ politicians jumping ship as soon as their political interest is not met.

The group Coordinator, Imafidon Osagie in a statement released to newsmen in Benin said the most credible and suited to fly the party’s flag among the pack is Dr Dorry Okojie adding that his antecedence speak volume to his readiness to address head on the hydra-headed challenges bedevilling the state.

They noted that after a careful study and analysis of all the aspirants seeking to emerge as the standard flag bearer of the party none seem ready for the onerous task of changing positively the fortune of the state than the property merchant, Dorry Okojie.

“We want to state unequivocally that the Labour party is the only party that is poised to take over the seat of power come 2024. It is clear from the 2023 National Assembly that LP is the party to beat.

“However, the party must ensure that the right candidate is chosen. We as a group are also aware of plans by a particular aspirant who recently joined that party is sponsored from Osadebey’s avenue, the seat of power with the sole aim to destabilize and whittle down the support base of serious contenders. Our message to them and their co-travellers is that they have failed even before they start.

“We are also not unmindful of a particular perpetual aspirant whose stuck in trade is the campaign of calumny against other aspirants shows that he doesn’t what it takes to partake in a healthy and clean competition. He is jittery for the young and vibrant Okojie.

“At the appropriate time we will challenge them to an open debate to tell Edo people what they have actually done for the people other than the few ounces of grains being thrown here and there when the election approaches.

The group concluded, “ Dorry is an entrepreneur, a grassroots mobilizer , and philanthropist that has demonstrated strong passion and dedication to the Edo and Esan Agenda through his many outreach”.
