Lawali was the only Nigerian player named in the selection compiled by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Technical Study Group (TSG).

The right-back was named Man of the Match in the Golden Eaglets opening two games against Zambia and Morocco.

Nduka Ugbade’s side exited the competition at the quarterfinal stage after losing 2-1 to Burkina Faso in the West African derby.

The two-time champions also failed to qualify for the World Cup following their ouster.

The tournament will enter the semi-final phase on Sunday, with Mali, Senegal, Morocco and Burkina Faso searching for a place in the final.
