The people Democratic Party, PDP, in Taraba on Tuesday has debunked the accusation by the All Progressive Congress APC that it plans to rig the March 18 elections in the state.
In a press briefing, Mr Andeta’rang Irammae, the PDP State Publicity Secretary said the allegation by the former ambassador to the republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Alhaji Hassan Ardo Jika, who is a chieftain of APC in the state, denied that the allegation is irrational and baseless targeted at blackmailing the PDP.
According to Irammae, PDP is well rooted in the state since 1999 to date, and has deliver the desire dividend of democracy to people and have no reason or plans to rig any election.
In his words he assert that “We have no plans to rig any election, the APC is just desperate after knowing that PDP is rooted and has deliver dividends of democracy to the people, they have resorted to cheap blackmail against us to win sympathy.
“We wish to warn the APC in Taraba to desist from it’s cheap blackmail against our party. Our achievements in the state since 1999 is the reason why we have been winning election and we are confident to win again. We have no plans to rig” he said.
The publicity secretary also advised the APC to embark on issue-based campaign rather than resorting to cheap blackmail.
He also accused the APC of sponsoring thugs to attack a PDP house of assembly candidate for Donga state constituency, Hon. capt. Douglas Ndatse while on his campaign tour over the weekend.
Irammae conclude that the APC in Taraba after seeing the PDP brighter chances of winning in the upcoming polls, has resorted to cheap blackmail against the party to create tension. He urged the citizens to be calm as they are sure of winning.
