Zamfara: Anti-thuggery Commandant Bags Gallantry Performance Award

The Zamfara State Commandant Anti-Thuggery, Mohammed Bello Bakyasuwa, Friday 3rd March, 2023 bagged; “Gallantry Performance Award”, from the Centre For Grassroots Development and Crime Prevention in conjunction with Independent Publishers Forum, a Non-governmental Organization based in Abuja.

According to Mr. Emmanuel Peter, the Secretary of the organization, said, that the award was to spur the Commandant to continue to do more in his field of endvours, especially in the area of crime prevention, eradicate of thuggery and criminal elements and other nefarious activities of bandits across the state.

He added that the award was also to let the whole world know what Commandant Bello is doing in Zamfara State and would like other security outfits to emulate him.

“The reason why we honour Commandant Bello is to spur him to do more in his field of endvours especially in the area of crime prevention, eradication of thuggery and criminal elements and other nefarious activities of bandits across the state.

“In additional, we want the whole world to know and to see the good job that Commandant Bello Bakyasuwa is doing in Zamfara State by honouring him with this prestigious award’, Mr. Peter said.

In his response, the Commandant expressed delight and deep appreciate for the kind gesture been bestowed on him by the organization. Adding that the award came as surprise, saying he never knew he was been monitored or checkmated by reputable organizations like the Centre For Grassroots development and crime prevention.

He added that the award would boost the morale of all the gallant officers by encourage them to do more especially in fighting crime in Zamfara State.

Bello, explained that the state government established the agency for the purpose of preventing crime across Zamfara communities.

“I am delighted and really appreciate the gesture been bestowed on me today by the Centre For Grassroots Development and Crime Prevention. They said they honoured us as a result of our ‘Gallant Performance’, honestly, we are indeed ‘gallant’.

“I would also like to say that this award will encourage us do more and to bring out our best in fighting crime in Zamfara State. As result of the effects of this agency, Zamfara has become a peaceful state. The state have gotten it right in fighting banditry, illegal miners, phone snatchers among others,” he said.

Mr. Bakyasuwa further said he dedicated the award to the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Mohammed Bello Matawale, for founding him worthy and to appoint him as the Commandant of Anti-thuggery in Zamfara State.

“I wish to extend my profound gratitude to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Matawale, for founding me worthy and to appoint me as the Commandant of this agency. I dedicate this award to him”, he added.
