Taraba Attack: Residents Claim 26 Killed, Police Confirm 10 Deaths

The attack, which occurred on Friday, October 23, reportedly left several residents dead, with the death toll rising as more bodies were recovered. Residents said the assailants invaded the community during market activities, killing people and throwing the area into panic as families fled for safety.

The incident has heightened concerns over the security situation in the area, with residents calling for an immediate response to prevent further attacks and protect lives and property.

Expressing shock over the incident, Senator Lau said he received reports of the killings with deep sadness and urged security agencies to intensify their efforts to safeguard residents.

“I received reports of the killing of innocent people in Binnari with shock. I call on security agents to redouble their efforts in the discharge of their responsibility to protect the lives and property of citizens,” he said.

The senator extended his condolences to the families of those killed and sympathised with residents affected by the attack.
