Kogi State leaders have assured President Bola Tinubu of overwhelming electoral support in the 2027 general elections, declaring that the state’s voters will reward his administration’s reform agenda with massive votes across all levels.

The assurance came as the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and presidential media team concluded the third day of their project inspection tour of federal and state government initiatives in the state.

Commissioner Cites Transformation

Addressing the delegation at Gbede, Kingsley Fanwo, Kogi’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, said the people of the state were delighted with ongoing federal projects and desired further investment. He affirmed that the electorate would demonstrate their gratitude at the polls in January 2027 by voting overwhelmingly for the President and the All Progressives Congress.

Mr Fanwo noted that supporting the President in 2027 represented reciprocation for his reform programmes, which had freed resources for sub-national governments and enabled unprecedented developmental projects across the state.

Presidential Aide Lauds Alignment

Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, who led the tour, said the development projects across the country demonstrated that Nigerians’ hopes were being renewed. The team inspected a 15-kilometre asphalted internal road network with drainage, a newly constructed Primary Health Centre, and the Kabba-Egbe-Omuaran-Ilorin Road currently under federal reconstruction.

Mr Dare commended Governor Usman Ododo’s developmental strides in education, health, roads, security, and human capital development, affirming alignment with the Tinubu administration’s eight-point agenda. He emphasised that the Federal Executive Council had approved the reconstruction of the Kabba–Ilorin road, abandoned for over three decades, as part of strategic infrastructure investment to enhance connectivity and goods movement.

Local Leaders Celebrate Development

The delegation received a warm welcome in Egbe from Tosin Olokun, Chairman of Yagba West Local Government, and Joseph Oluwasegun, Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, both natives of the community. They praised the Governor for unprecedented development in the local government and for appointing two sons of the community as commissioners.

In Okene, Abdulsalami Deedat, State Commissioner for Works, conducted the team through the ancient town’s concrete-paved inner roads, major bridges, and erosion control projects. He commended Governor Ododo’s commitment to grassroots development and praised President Tinubu’s reforms, reiterating that Kogi would remain aligned with a President who had delivered substantial progress to the state.
