Isa Ashiru, the gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Kaduna State in the 2027 elections, has expressed profound gratitude to party members following the successful conclusion of the party’s primaries.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Ashiru praised the party’s leadership for upholding a true democratic process across the state’s 255 electoral wards. He noted that the affirmation of his candidacy served to set the record straight as the duly elected winner of the primaries.
Describing the exercise as rancour-free, Ashiru said the smooth conduct of the primaries reflects the ADC’s readiness not only to deliver good governance but also to strengthen democracy for the benefit of all Kaduna residents.
The governorship candidate called for unity among all stakeholders, urging fellow aspirants to embrace sportsmanship.
“In any contest, some will win and some will lose, but that must not tear us apart. We must work together as one family to rescue Kaduna from its current economic and security hardships,” he said.
Ashiru assured party loyalists and followers of inclusiveness, stressing that this approach would foster internal cohesion and position the ADC to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
He emphasised that the ADC’s primary goal is to tackle deep-seated poverty, widespread hunger, and insecurity, while restoring faith in Kaduna’s democratic institutions.
He therefore called on residents to unite behind his campaign in the collective journey to rescue the state from maladministration.
