Following the viral success of their hit single Goodness II, award-winning Afro-Gospel artiste Godfrey Gad has announced a major collaboration with renowned worship movement Sound of Salem on a new EP titled Salem Alaikum.
The project is scheduled for release on June 12, 2026, and is already generating excitement within gospel music circles and among fans of contemporary African worship music.
According to the artistes, the EP will deliver a unique fusion of “Afro-Kabash” — Godfrey Gad’s signature energetic Afro-inspired sound — blended with the prophetic chants and spiritual atmosphere that have become synonymous with Sound of Salem.
Industry observers say the collaboration could mark a significant shift in the Afro-Gospel genre by combining vibrant African rhythms with deep spiritual expression and revival-focused worship.
Ahead of the official EP release, the lead single titled “Oh My Soul ” debuted on Friday, May 15, 2026, giving listeners an early taste of the project. Music insiders have already described the body of work as potentially “genre-defining” within the evolving Nigerian gospel music scene.
The collaboration is also expected to strengthen the growing global appeal of Nigerian gospel music, particularly among younger audiences seeking innovative sounds rooted in spirituality and worship.
As anticipation continues to build, Salem Alaikum is widely seen as a project that could bridge the gap between contemporary African music and deep devotional worship, opening a new chapter for gospel music in Nigeria and beyond.
