The Nigerian Army has announced that its troops killed several terrorists and recovered 10 bodies during coordinated offensives in Plateau State.
In an operational report released on Thursday, the Army said the raids, conducted under Operation Wutan Daji, targeted terrorist corridors around Daba and Seri villages in the Wase and Kanam council areas.
Troops established blocking positions between Dutsen Zaki and Odare Forest, where they made contact with terrorists travelling on motorcycles along the axis. A firefight ensued, resulting in the death of several insurgents, while others fled with suspected gunshot wounds.
A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of 10 terrorist bodies, alongside weapons and other items. These include:
· Two motorcycles
· A 25-litre jerrycan of premium motor spirit
· One AK-47 rifle
· A magazine loaded with 7.62mm special ammunition
The Army confirmed that the operation is ongoing, with troops maintaining a high fighting spirit and a sustained offensive posture in the region.
“The Nigerian Army reaffirms its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorists and restoring peace in affected communities,” the report stated.
