The Apex sociocultural Youth organization of Igbo Race Worldwide, Ohanaeze Youth Council(OYC) under the leadership of Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka is calling for a Christian sovereign state in th Northern Nigeria and Biafra in Southern Nigeria, following the Jos Palm Sunday attack that killed over 50 Christians. They describe the killings as a “well-planned jihadist war” orchestrated by Islamist extremists, and urge Nigerians especially to demand a referendum/Plebiscite to redefine coexistence within the Nigerian federation.
The council’s joint press statement, issued on Tuesday, 31st March 2026, and signed by National President General Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka and Secretary General Comrade Ifeanyichukwu Nweke, reportedly described the attack as a calculated genocide against Christians, perpetrated by Fulani ethnic militias/Jihadist.
The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) criticizes the current administration under Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership for lacking credibility and competence in safeguarding the lives and properties of Nigerians. They also call upon Bola Ahmed Tinubu to abandon his re-election bid, labeling it as excessively ambitious and insensitive.
Nigeria has descended into a cycle of violence against innocent Christians blood under the Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidency, featuring a joint Muslim-Muslim ticket, with no proven measures or efforts to safeguard Christian communities in Northern Nigeria.
We recall the numerous broadcasts by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, which exposed ethnic cleansing by Fulani and Islamist extremists and jihadists, but the then federal government led by former Muslim President Mohammadu Buhari, abducted Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Kenya and incarcerated him at the DSS Dungeon for 4 years, and illegally prosecuted and convicted and thrown him into Prison under another Muslim President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Reports of atrocities committed against Christians in Northern Nigeria by Jihadist groups suggest a deliberate political and religious strategy to acquire land and extend territorial control, posing an existential threat to the Christian community in the area.
It’s obvious that the persistent attacks on Christians, exemplified by the Jos Palm Sunday attack, are viewed as targeted and unaddressed. The historical exclusion and marginalization of Northern Christians by past and present governments have generated concerns about Christian safety and representation.
At this critical point, self-governance and preservation of cultural and religious identity the most effective strategy for ensuring the safety of lives and properties of Northern Christians in Nigeria.
The international community, including the United States of America under the leadership of Donald Trump, has raised concerns about the Christian massacre, as declared Nigeria ” A Country of Particular Concern” needs to recognize that a sovereign state for Northern Christians is the only solution to the long-standing issue of orchestrated religious killings in Northern Nigeria.
In light of the preceding, the creation of a sovereign Christian state in the North and a Biafran state in the South remains to be the only feasible and sustainable solution to the persistent killings and massacre of Christians in Nigeria. If this measure is not taken promptly, Nigeria will likely continue to be a dangerous place or a “Graveyard “for Christians.
Signed
Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka
National President General
Ohanaeze Youth Council(OYC)
Comrade Ifeanyichukwu Nweke
Secretary Nweke
