The recent Ward Congresses held across Sokoto State have been hailed as a resounding success, according to Honorable Lawali Liman Kaura, Chairman of the APC National Congress Committee for the region. Conducted on Wednesday, 18th February 2026, these congresses covered all 244 wards, showcasing an impressive display of unity and discipline among party members.

During an inspection tour of several wards, Kaura, accompanied by Committee Secretary Zubairu Muhammad Lawali, expressed his satisfaction with the orderly conduct observed throughout the congresses. “The level of discipline demonstrated by our members is commendable and reflects the true essence of our party’s symbol—the broom,” Kaura noted. The broom signifies unity, and the congresses served as a practical manifestation of this principle.

The chairman urged all members to maintain this spirit of cooperation and discipline as they approach the upcoming Local Government Congresses scheduled for Saturday. “It is imperative that we carry forward the momentum generated during the Ward Congresses. Our strength lies in our unity, and we must continue to work together for the common good of our party and the people of Sokoto,” he added.

Kaura also commended the meticulous arrangements made by the Sokoto State APC leadership, which he credited as pivotal to the success of the congresses. “The planning and execution were exemplary, allowing for a smooth and efficient process across the wards,” he remarked.

This successful exercise comes at a crucial time for the APC in Sokoto, as the party gears up for local elections. The congresses not only serve as a platform for party members to express their views but also foster a sense of belonging and solidarity within the party ranks.

Local party leaders echoed Kaura’s sentiments, asserting that the congresses have rejuvenated the party base and reinforced commitment to the APC’s core values. “The enthusiasm observed during the congresses is a clear indication that our members are ready and eager to engage in the upcoming electoral process,” stated a local party official.

As the APC looks to solidify its position in Sokoto, the successful execution of these congresses is seen as a critical step towards ensuring a strong showing in the forthcoming local government elections. The party hopes to leverage this momentum to attract and mobilise more supporters across the state.

In conclusion, the Sokoto APC Ward Congresses stand as a testament to the party’s dedication to fostering unity and discipline among its members. With the upcoming Local Government Congresses on the horizon, party leaders are optimistic that this spirit will carry through, ensuring continued success for the APC in Sokoto.

In the lead-up to these crucial elections, the commitment displayed during the congresses will undoubtedly play a significant role in shaping the political landscape of Sokoto State. The APC’s focus on unity and disciplined engagement will be vital as they prepare to face the challenges ahead.

As the party rallies its members for the next phase of their electoral campaign, the emphasis remains on building a cohesive front that prioritises the needs and voices of the Sokoto community. The successful Ward Congresses have laid a solid foundation, and the APC is poised to capitalise on this momentum in the days to come.
