84-hours after the abduction of the Nasarawa State Permanent Secretary (PS), Jibril Giza, his whereabout is still unknown, even as the kidnappers are yet to establish contact with the family.
The permanent Secretary was kidnapped from his Shabu resident, a suburb of Lafia in the early hours of Saturday, 15 January, 2020.
While the police and other security agencies are intensifying efforts to secure the release of Giza unhurt, the identity of the suspected gunmen is still unknown.
A member of the family, Mr Usman Shagari who spoke with newsmen at the victim’s resident in Shabu said, since the abduction of Giza in the early hours of last Saturday, no contact had been made by his captors.
He stated that the phone line of the permanent Secretary could be reached but that calls that connected put were rejected.
Mr Shagari appealed to the security agencies to redouble their efforts in the search for the permanent Secretary to ensure he return to his family unhurt.
The situation has generated anxiety and uncertainty among the family members and residents of the area.
They are worried about the condition of the permanent Secretary and the increasing cases of insecurity in the state.
