4 Days After Senate Raised Alarm, Terrorists Kill Vigilantes Commander, 2 Others

A vigilante Commander, Danladi Dobbo and two others members have been killed by terrorists in Lapai LGA of Nigeria State.

This is coming four days after the Nigerian Senate raised the alarm that terrorists are having an enclave in Niger and Kwara LGAs.

The fresh attack took place in Kpada Community of Lapai local government area of Niger state.

Elanza News gathered that the incident occurred on Friday night when terrorists attack local farmers and abducted scores.

Many were injured in the attack that led to the mass kidnapping earlier in the day.

It was learnt that after the attack on the farmers, the vigilantes were mobilised to go after for the terrorists and rescue the abductees in the forest but they were ambushed, resulting to the killing of three of the vigilante members, including the Commander.

“It was on Friday afternoon when local farmers and tractor operators were carrying out their farming activities and the terrorists struck, abducting many, ” a source in the area said.

It was gathered that the vigilantes were immediately mobilized for search and rescue mission to the forest but the bandits laid an ambush on them and killed the three members of the vigilante group including the Commander.

It will be recalled that a police Divisional Crime Officer in Lapai and a vigilante were killed in the same Kpada community during a rescue mission last month.

Niger State commissioner for internal security, Mr Emmanuel Umar, confirmed the incident.

Umar, who said the members of the community should not go after the bandits in the forest, added that security men will help recover the bodies of those killed and the abducted persons.
